WANTED: Sustaining Members for a Sustainable Future!

The Clayton County Energy District is laser focused on building our community mission by facilitating fair access to local and clean energy for all of its residents! Local clean energy has a tremendous opportunity to create a vibrant local economy. Your Energy District is stemming the tide of millions of energy cost dollars, annually leaving the Clayton County economy. Retaining those energy dollars is generating major economic activity right here at home.

In addition, by encouraging energy efficiency and clean energy generation we are good climate stewards! Unused energy is the cleanest and the cheapest energy. Clayton County Energy District (CCED) supports the transition to clean energy with good technical and financial analysis and implementation – your Energy District puts boots on the ground.

OUR MISSION CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED LOCALLY, FROM THE GROUND UP AND IT CAN ONLY BE DONE AS A COLLECTIVE EFFORT —-IN OTHER WORDS WE NEED YOUR HELP!

But don’t take it from us alone. Here are some good words from our very first CCED SUSTAINING members, Jane & John Metcalf!

My husband John and I finally made it to a CCED breakfast in Edgewood on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Cafe Rose’.  We were impressed by the goals and purpose of the Clayton County Energy District, “facilitation fair access to local and clean energy.”  Using the NCRS model of county by county creation of energy districts by dedicated citizens, brings ownership to this initiative.
At home, after the breakfast, I opened my computer to make a donation.  An option of becoming a sustaining member was offered .  We believe that if you value something, you need to act on it.  We do this for education, public radio and tv, as well as our religion.  It only made sense to start a monthly contribution to the Clayton County Energy District’s mission of bringing clean energy to local communities.  It is the way our budget allows us to support causes we value.
As Margaret Mead, a noted cultural anthropologist once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Sustaining Members, John and Jane Metcalf!
