What is a Home Energy Audit?

A home energy audit is a detailed assessment of your home’s energy use based on data gathered from expert testing. Thanks to grant funding, CCED offers free energy audits to households at or below 150% Area Median Income (see "How Much Does it Cost" section for income details).

Our energy auditors will conduct an in-depth evaluation of your home envelope, heating and cooling systems, appliances, and overall energy efficiency. They use diagnostic tools such as blower door tests and infrared cameras to identify areas of energy loss and provide personalized recommendations to help you save money and improve year-round comfort.

After gathering information from testing in your home our technical assistance team will create a personalized written report outlining your home environment and recommendations for improvements. CCED experts will discuss the results with you and be available for follow up support to help you move forward confidently with energy efficiency projects.
