Our whole home energy audit provides insights into how your home uses energy and where improvements can be made—whether that’s insulation upgrades, air sealing, or more efficient heating and cooling.

If areas in your home feel drafty, your energy bills are high, or your heating and cooling systems seem to run constantly with little change in temperature, an energy audit can help you pinpoint the causes and lower your bills.

If you’re interested in alternative energy systems like heat pumps, solar, or are looking to buy an electric vehicle our technical experts can also explain your options.

A home energy audit from CCED is personalized to your home. Through on-site measurements, analysis, and personalized feedback you can confidently make meaningful steps toward increased comfort and lower energy bills.  The resulting report will provide both recommended improvements and estimate annual dollar and emission savings.

Recommended efficiency improvements will help you achieve:

Thanks to a grant from the Clean Energy Districts of Iowa this program is available at no cost to Clayton County households at or below 150% of area median income. To qualify for a free home energy audit, we ask you to self-attest your 2025 annual household income which helps us assess the effectiveness of our outreach and ensures equitable access to clean energy technical assistance.

Households that do not qualify for grant funds can still sign up for an energy audit for a fee for service = $400.
