Clayton County’s LED Transition

We’re celebrating our LED transition!

Since 2017, the CCED has locally purchased 10,000 LEDs and distributed them to Clayton County light sockets. The quates to a savings to Clayton County residents of $835,000* over 13.6 years.

When we spend less on our light bills, we have more to spend in our community.

Now, that’s something to celebrate!

LED Math

*Here's the math behind the numbers:

9W (60W equivalent LED bulbs last 13.6 years and cost $14.69 to operate/lifetime

The cost to run 60W incandescent bulb for 13.6 years = $98.19

The difference = $83.50 savings for the lifetime of the LED bulb

10,000 LEDs X $83.50 savings = $835,000 savings for Clayton County over 13.6 years!
