5 new EV Charging Stations delivered in the county… installation soon!
Last year, the Clayton County Energy District received funds from the Upper Mississippi Gaming Corporation to go toward 5 new electric vehicle charging stations in Clayton County. As of last week (week of 4/12/21), the stations were officially delivered!
Thsi project aims to reverse Clayton County’s identity as a charging station desert, attracting tourists with electric vehicles to loca destinations. According to AutoNews.com, EVs will account for about one-third of all global auto sales by 2025. By 2030, more electric vehicles are projected to be sold than traditional internal combustion engine (gas or fossil fuel burning) vehicles.
The charging stations will be installed very soon in the Clayton County cities of Strawberry Point, Elkader, Marquette, McGregor, and Guttenberg at these approximate locations:
