Celebrating the Life & Contributions of Gary Passmore
It is with tremendous sadness we announce our beloved board member, Gary Passmore, passed away Wednesday, November 20th at the age of 68.
Gary served as the Allamakee Clayton Rural Electric Cooperative Member Services Director in Northeast Iowa for over 34 years, responding to many member energy usage questions and issues. When asked about his role on the CCED board as a retired REC employee he said, “The changes in efficiencies of appliances and the new technologies that have evolved has been something that I have tried to pass along to our member consumers for the REC. With the Clayton County Energy District, I have found a group of people that want to help in similar ways.”
Gary was extremely involved in his passions. He served on the board of the Upper Mississippi Gaming Corporation, was the past president of the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives (member services section), and was selected as a committee member for the Annual Energy Conference held in Des Moines. He also was the past president and council member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, along with a current member of the Planning and Zoning Board for the City of Monona.
The Clayton County Energy District will deeply miss Gary’s smart influence, his professional insight, his servant attitude and most of all his warm smile friendship. May he rest in peace.
