We are in search for a Part-Time Energy District Communications & Marketing Specialist
Are you passionate about clean energy and community engagement? We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Energy District Communications and Marketing Specialist to join our team at the Clayton County Energy District in Clayton County, IA. In this remote role, you will play a crucial part in promoting local awareness and enhancing community understanding of our district’s mission.
Position Details:
Part-time (Flexible ~ 4 hours per week) Compensation: $25 per hour Employment Type: Independent Contractor Work Arrangement: Remote
Digital Presence Management:
- Oversee and maintain the district’s online presence through website management, email marketing, and social media accounts.
- Manage website content using the WordPress Dashboard to ensure up-to-date information.
- Utilize MailChimp to create engaging newsletters and email announcements.
- Regularly update and manage social media accounts to keep the community informed.
Content Creation:
- Develop and distribute press releases, brochures, fact sheets, membership booklets, and e-newsletters.
- Maintain membership lists and ensure accurate records.
- Place approved advertisements according to the project budget.
- Foster relationships with local and regional news media to enhance district visibility.
Event Coordination:
- Organize and promote energy district events to engage the community.
- Assist in coordinating fundraising campaigns with guidance from the program director.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain open communication with the program director to ensure alignment with district objectives.
- Collaborate with fellow energy district staff to exchange knowledge and insights.
- Stay updated on local issues and clean energy topics to enhance the quality of content and outreach.
- Assist in managing the energy district’s shared drive.
Proficiency Requirements:
- Graphic design skills for creating visually appealing content
- Strong writing abilities to craft compelling messaging
- Experience in social media content creation and management.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace for collaboration and communication
- Facilitation of online meetings and webinars
Relationship to the Clean Energy District Board of Directors:
- Act as an independent contractor under the guidance of the program director.
- Attend board meetings as required.
- Maintain a transparent work log.
- Submit regular compensation and reimbursement invoices promptly.
