February Virtual Lunch & Learn: Iowa Business for Clean Energy

FEBRUARY VIRTUAL LUNCH & LEARN RECORDING

JOIN US AS WE TALK WITH IOWA BUSINESS FOR CLEAN ENERGY!
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH @ 12 PM CT

During our February Lunch & Learn, we will have a presentation and discussion on the competitiveness of Iowa’s energy policy, led by the Executive Director of a newly formed organization, Iowa Business for Clean Energy.  While the figure is often surprising, Iowa has the 22nd highest commercial energy rates in the country.  Even our neighbor, Illinois, has cheaper rates.  As solar and other technologies become less expensive than traditional generation and more and more customers are valuing companies that can tout a low carbon footprint, it will be critical that Iowa’s energy policies enable businesses to have access to low cost, clean energy. And also that the policies ensure it can have a return for its energy efficiency investments.  Iowa Business for Clean Energy discusses the potential barriers for Iowa in ensuring a future competitive energy grid in the state.

Iowa Business for Clean Energy fosters a network of individuals in private business across the state. The network includes energy users, energy producers, clean energy suppliers, and energy efficiency professionals. The wealth of knowledge, experience, and diverse backgrounds ensure the network fosters a robust discussion and learning opportunity. Their mission is to help lead a path to a clean, low-cost energy future together – ensuring Iowa’s businesses can compete with any company not just in the country – but the world!
